Sarah Newman
Operations Manager
Sarah has been with the Compass team since late 2019 and brought with her ten years worth of experience working with medical specialists. She has a background in health sciences and is enjoying working in the IVF industry. Sarah has recently come on board as our Operations Manager.
Simone Coote
Lab Manager/Embryologist
Simone joined the Compass team early in 2014 and brings two undergraduate degrees in medical science (pathology) and forensic biotechnology to the team. During her studies Simone did placement at Compass Fertility and discovered a passion for reproductive science.
Vanessa Otten
Dep. Lab Manager/Embryologist
Vanessa has been with Compass since February 2016. She has a genetics background with a Bachelor of Genetics (Honours) and a Masters of Clinical Embryology. She enjoys using her skills to coordinate our PGT program and help those on their IVF journey.
Mel Bauer
Embryologist
Mel re-joins the Compass family and brings with her a Bachelor’s degree of Medical & Applied Biotechnology and 15 years’ experience working in the health and medical industry including at multiple IVF clinics around Australia. Mel is excited to help Compass patients achieve their fertility goals.
Victoria Rudd
Trainee Embryologist
Victoria is the newest member of the Compass team, and a MSc Clinical Embryologist and BSc Human Physiology graduate who is passionate about pursuing a career in embryology and changing the lives of Compass patients.
Nicole Schmocker
Junior Fertility Doctor
Nicole has been with the Compass & Sides team since the end of 2023 and is enjoying learning fertility medicine.
Nicole also works at a General practice, with an interest in women’s & family medicine, and has her own gorgeous young family.
Gill Homan
Nurse Unit Manager
Compass Welcomes our new NUM. Gill is an RN with degrees in nursing and education. Gill is an experienced fertility nurse, having worked at several clinics and managing these teams. Gill looks forward to working with the Compass team.
Niamh Hofman
Nursing Unit Facilitator
Niamh joins the Compass team, bringing extensive experience in both animal and human healthcare, in both clinical and administrative roles. Niamh is enjoying learning all things Fertility and assisting patients throughout their treatments.
Susan McMaster
Senior Nursing Administration Officer
Susan joined Compass Fertility mid 2014. She is responsible for administration and reception duties and ensures our patients feel warm, welcome, informed and supported as they go through their fertility journey.
Anna McElhenny
Fertility Nurse
Anna completed her nursing degree in 2013, and later finished a post graduate qualification in midwifery. Anna worked in a busy maternity unit and birth suite until having her own 2 children, which sparked a career change to fertility nursing in 2022.
Jo Mills
Fertility Nurse
Jo is an Enrolled nurse and joined the compass team in mid-2022. Jo has a keen interest in applying a holistic and therapeutic approach to support all patients on their fertility journey, particularly those of the LGBTQIA+ community. In her spare time she enjoys practicing yoga and aerial dance.
Charney Wells
Nursing Assistant
Charney was a star on the Sides Admin team, and has since moved to Compass. She is studying to be a doctor at ANU, with an interest in both LGBTQIA+ health, women's health and fertility. In her spare time, she enjoys playing tennis both socially and competitively.
Chloe Brown
Patient Services
Chloe started in July 2022 and comes from a reception and administration background spanning 6 years in the animal healthcare industry. She is now pursuing her interests in Women’s health and medical administration.
Lauren Steele
Patient Services
Compass is very pleased to have our peppy admin-guru Lauren on board. Lauren has plentiful experience in client-facing roles and including in the health space, working for Lifeblood as a nursing assistant. We're thrilled to have her on board.
Grace Harvey
Patient Services - Dr Nicole Sides Consulting
Grace joined us in early 2021, coming to us from a Canberra law firm. She has enjoyed learning about all things fertility with Dr Sides and is passionate about assisting patients on their fertility journey.
Lennon Gibbons

Lennon has settled into the Sides Consulting team, bringing her wealth of experience in hotel management and client satisfaction to her new role in patient services. We are thrilled to have Lennon on board as she learns all things Fertility.
Lori Rafferty
Sonographer
Lori has close to forty years in the medical imaging industry, with the last ten years in ultrasound. She obtained a post graduate diploma in medical ultrasound from the University of South Australia. Lori's career interests are in women's health and foetal ultrasound.
Karen Webster
Sonogragher
Karen is an accredited medical sonographer with more than 30 years ultrasound experience. Her particular interest is in women’s health, specialising in fertility and obstetric ultrasound and has worked with Nicci since the inception of Compass Fertility.
